About me

I’ve had a passion for making things for as long as I can remember. My journey into woodturning began at school in South Africa in the late 1980s, and what started as occasional spindle turning on a homebuilt lathe slowly grew into a lifelong hobby.
After moving to New Zealand in 2019, I found myself drawn more and more to the artistic side of woodturning. Today, I enjoy it more than ever—constantly exploring new ideas and pushing my skills further. I love incorporating pyrography and carving into my work, while always letting form and natural wood grain take center stage.
I’m grateful to have had my work featured in NZ Creative Wood Magazine, UK Woodturning Magazine, and American Woodturner, as well as the coverpage on the World of Woodturners online platform. Since 2024, I’ve also been honoured to receive nine awards in the NAW “Art of Wood” competition.
Thanks for following along on my creative journey!
